Dr. Tammy O'Brien graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, IA in 1991 with a B.A. in Biology and a minor in Spanish. She then attended and graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 1995. She completed her family practice residency in 1998 from the Cedar Rapids Family Practice Residency Program. She is board certified in family medicine. She joined Family Medicine Specialists, P.C. in 1998.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt and their 3 adult children. She also enjoys gardening, music, reading, and watching sports.
